Remotie: remote for Samsung TV App Reviews

*12/2/2015: getting the same message as before, ugh. I guess it MIGHT work on SOME days, now. Frustrating. *update 12/1/2015: the app is working again, with my Samsung Smart TV, out of the blue. I am so glad I decided to try it again before deleting** 4 stars because I loved this app and paid for the extra features, (I especially loved using my phone as a touch pad to navigate my tv browser, and my phone keypad to type so much faster in searches… but on Thanksgiving 2015, Samsung changed things and now it wont connect, saying, "We recommend installing the official application called Samsung Smart View." (Samsung Smart View has mostly 1-star ratings -over 100- with most reviews complaining about the lack of remote control capabilities; so it looks like Im not even going to try that one. It seems to be solely for media sharing across devices, which is not what I want to do.) I tried connecting manually, using the IP address, with the same results. Just wanted to warn people dont waste your money, if you have a Samsung tv. This app may work for other devices and then I say get it, its wonderful! I can only hope it may soon have an update that will allow it to connect with my tv again. I will try other remote apps, I suppose, and will update here if any work.

I have used many remote appsfor my tv , this is by far the best out there . I have a 14 month old son who loves to take the remote and hide it , having this app is a lifesaver and all the features available are awesome, I even found shortcuts that I didnt even know existed. Well done on such a great app !

This app serves its purpose. I paid $3.99 for the trackpad and was rather disappointed in its functionality. For $3.99, I figured the quality of the trackpad would be better.

The up and down button on my remote will not work. Ill press it, and it does nothing. Its so annoying. Plz fix. I Have an iPod 5.

Works fine!! But when I purchased a keyboard it didnt work, I wish I can have my money back!!!

Seems like a great app, but will not work for my newer Samsung SMART TV. It is not ready for new technology Please update so I can use this app!

Please give us an update we have been waiting since July! The connection issues are driving me crazy! I have to keep quitting the app then opening it up to get it to reconnect.

Wont connect. Ran all troubleshooting given. No result.

You download the app thinking this one looks pretty cool then you open it to find u need to buy extra features if u wanna use the smarthub

The app looks amazing, And for what I read on the review, works fine. Just that the app needs to be updated for TV models from 2014 and 2015. That will help a lot of people like me, so I dont have to but the smart remote.

I cant find an app that only controls a Samsung Ill give this app a one star rate but when it gets upgraded I will give it a five star rate

Love that it has no ads! The remote works well. The only flaw I could find was that the source button is on a different screen from the OK button. This app works better than Samsungs own Smartview app. Thats saying something!

The app recognized my tv but every time I tried to get it to connect the app just crashed. Every. Time.

The auto recognize tv option does not work. Also the manual adding of the Samsung tv by IP address doesnt work.

The keyboard has to be made functional otherwise it is as useless as the remote.

Remotie does not connect to the current, Feb 2016, Samsung smart TV. It sees the TV in the on the network, but selecting it for remote control just fails with a generic error about possibly entering the wrong IP, which was not entered because Remotie found the device and I just selected it. So without a connection, this app does nothing.
